Collection: LLOYD

LLOYD launched in 2014 as a collection of everyday basics influenced by the slow fashion movement. Untethered from the fashion calendar, the brand periodically dropped seasonless garments and sets made in Vancouver, Canada of high quality natural fibres and deadstock materials.

Kathy Hamagami, LLOYD’s co-founder and creative director, came to fashion
through an unconventional route: working for Vancouver-based design and production studio molo, whose paper softwall space partition and paper softseating can both be found within the MoMA’s permanent collection. It was there she trained her eye towards minimalism.

Previously, a stark simplicity was achieved through patterns and materials but LLOYD is a brand in transition. With Hamagami recently taking full ownership, she is motivated to achieve minimalism through a sparseness in the brand’s offerings, only producing carefully considered pieces that she herself loves.

All toques are fabricated in small quantities in Vancouver, Canada by Alterior. The studio and its in-house shop, A Living Taste, support community-building initiatives and
activations through resources and education with a mission to provide a safe space and
opportunities for their growing community.
