Collection: Nancy Nickolson

Nancy and is a descendant of Ukrainian, German, and French settlers living on Treaty 6 territory in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada). Nancy's art is a whimsical ode to Alberta life. Everything from roadside attractions, gardening, to perogy-making. Nancy explores themes of place, identity, and nostalgia. She loves to make artwork that captures the making of a family recipe, learning a skill from a grandparent, embroidering a pattern, dancing, and singing.

Nancy earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in Art and Design from the University of Alberta and a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Heritage Resources Management from Athabasca University. She has illustrated for many exciting projects, including the children’s book, Alphabet Stage. In 2022, her How to Perogy recipe guide received national acclaim as she raised funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Nancy's artwork is on permanent public display at the University of Alberta and can be found in private collections around the world.
